LES GORGES DU VERDON

Today was a long bus ride to the Gorges du Verdon.  The first part was fine, but that last 30 minutes or so were on twisty climbing and descending roads and let me tell you, everyone was feeling it.  But all on board made it out alive and were rewarded with this.  Just stunningly beautiful!

We enjoyed a picnic lunch under the shade of some very accommodating trees.

We also rented kayaks and one canoe to explore the gorges.  Some students took it upon themselves to climb up the rocks and then jump into the water.  I cannot tell you how one's heart skips a beat as the adult on the approaching kayak seeing this about to happen.  Those little monkeys...

Then we had dinner at a restaurant very close to the residence.

And as an unusual treat, dessert.  Gosh, mousse au chocolat and crème brûlé.  We spoil them pink!

Tomorrow is the Musée Chagall in the morning and then yet another excursion to a cute town, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.  Bonne nuit!
