ATELIER POTERIE
This morning was a little different because we took advantage of the opportunity to visit a pottery studio two streets away from the residence. One set of students had class first and then the pottery and for the other set it was the reverse. It was quite the lesson in pottery-specific vocabulary! Here some of our student try their hand at the pottery wheel. No "Ghost" reenactments here parents, je vous assure.
In the afternoon the students had their electives. Pauline's conversation club went to the Musée de la Photographie. They took some time looking at all the photos exhibited and then took a picture of their favorite one. A picture of a picture-c'est dingue! Then, at a cafe, each student had to talk about whey they chose that photo as their favorite.
In Jacob's photography class, the students used everything they've learned thus far to make portraits in the park and then exhibit them once back in the classroom. Very professional!
Now look at this next one and tell me that you don't have the Top Gun theme song running through your head.
Yep, that's what I thought.
And now for the long-awaited surprise. Cyril, our French teacher and singer extraordinaire, gave a concert in a bar tonight in the Vieux Port of Nice. And we, being the sneaky little devils that we are, had dinner in the restaurant just next door. Music without the bar= genius!
Tomorrow night is the soirée with Saint Laurent du Var kids and the much anticipated spectacle. Write back soon!
