Musée Matisse
Bright and early this morning we took the bus, mon dieu, to the Musée Matisse. Look at the happy riders!
The museum is located an old hôtel (which means it was formerly a private residence) and it exhibits Matisse's work exclusively. This is the entrance and below you can see all of us at the exit.
We had a lovely guide who explained to us the growth of Matisse's art throughout his career and how he developed new techniques with his art. She spoke entirely in French and I translated when I needed. Photography of the original artwork isn't allowed (so you'll just have to go there yourself), but you can see how much the students enjoyed the tour.
Originally we had planned to go to Saint Paul de Vence today, but it was clear that after last night's festivities, the kids were just too tired to spend the whole day on their feet, so we switched the excursion to Friday and gave them some time to rest in their rooms before having some free time at the beach. Please check back on Friday to read about what we saw and did in Saint Paul de Vence.
Tonight Cyril made our dinner with the help of Daniel and Alejandro. There was rice and then shrimp in a red creole sauce, two kinds of chicken, and also meat and vegetarian spring rolls. Yummy!
To work off all that deliciousness, back to Cours Saleya for more dancin' in the street.
Tomorrow is our soccer match 'against' Saint Laurent du Var. Who will win? Stay tuned...
